Our staff come to us with a variety of childhood backgrounds, but they all have at least one thing in common – a love of working with children and a passion for teaching and watching them grow into competent learners. Our team of practitioners provide exciting opportunities for children to explore and investigate and they use nearly every activity, in which your child engages, as opportunities to teach.
We recognise that parents want to be involved and share their children's experiences, that is why we invite you to register with Siblings Nursery unique service, 'text-a-smile'.
Every child at Siblings has a learning journal to show their progress throughout the EYFS. This journal is used for formative, summative and evaluative assessments. When your child leaves Siblings Nursery, you can take the learning journal home as a keepsake. The learning journal is useful when children start school as it will give the teacher an indication of where the child is with regards to their developmental milestones. We also use Baseline Assesment: Flying Start 2 which is widely used in local schools.
All our staff are police checked through the Criminal Record Bureau (CRB) and hold a suitable Enhanced Disclosure. All our staff have current certificates in First Aid for babies and young children. Most staff are qualified to a level 3 certificate in childcare (NNEB, CACHE, diploma, NVQ III, Btec Diploma) or higher. Other staff are employed for their experience of working with nursery and pre–school age children and their own life skills. The Deputy Manager holds the Early Years Professional Status (EYPS) and is the Lead Practitioner for all planning throughout the nursery. The Manager is also working towards the EYPS.
Our staff have access to various professional development opportunities through Siblings' training programme and are supervised by a management team with over 50 years combined childcare experience. Together with a fantastic childcare team who are committed to providing the best education and childcare for every child in our nursery we aim to help you child flourish in their early years.
