Safety and Security
Parents need to be sure the day care they choose is a safe, secure and the children are in a happy, stable and interesting learning environment. This needs to be done whilst still maintaining the highest possible standards. Finding the right nursery for your children can be a difficult job, I understand and know how hard this can be as I tried to find suitable childcare when I was due to return to work after having my little boy. At the time I worked as a Manager for a Local Authority and needed to find the right place that would meet both my needs and those of my little one.
Probably like you, I worried that I would not find anyone who could care for my pride and joy like I would. Here at Siblings, we accomodate parents wishes and support parents and as the majority of us here are parents and grandparents we understand how important it is to respect your wishes and build firm relationships.
Siblings Nursery make no exceptions when dealing with your childrens safety within our nursery and maintain a safe and secure environment throughout your childrens stay whether that be during the childrens activities within our nursery, in our nursery garden or on one of our outings.
Siblings Nursery offers a totally secure environment. Our premises have 24 hour security and CCTV that covers internal and external play areas. There is also external CCTV that is manned from an external control room.
Siblings Nursery ensures that our children are supervised at all times both indoor and outdoor by trained, qualified and experienced staff. All candidates are recruited following Safeguarding Procedures for Recruitment which includes interviews, checking of certificates, qualifications, references and a successful Enhanced Criminal Records Bureau Disclosure (CRB). Staff complete an induction period and are mentored by a senior member of staff. All trainees and students are under no circumstances allowed to be left alone with children at Siblings Nursery. They are mentored by a nominated member of staff.
There are robust policies and procedures in place at Siblings Nursery for Safeguarding, Risk Assessments, Food and Nutrition, Visitors and Students, First Aid and Administration of Medication policies to name but a few. The Medication Policy does not allow the administration of any medicines unless the medicine has been prescribed by a Doctor/G.P. Only Senior staff are allowed to administer any form of medication, witnessed by a Nursery Practitioner, usually the child's keyperson.
Siblings Nursery has a commitment to keeping children safe and under no circumstances will we allow children to leave with anyone we do not know. It is for this reason that we ask parents to provide information about anyone you authorise to collect your child. We do reserve the right to refuse people access to the nursery to collect a child and will contact the parent if someone does come unannounced to collect your child. There is a security team on site that we can readily access if the need should ever arise.
